You’ve come to the right place.
GET THE WORK DONE AND GET ON YOUR WAY
Surprisingly Simple™ — that’s our mantra. In reality, it’s incredibly complex. But we’ll take on all of that burden and make it Surprisingly Simple for you — the way it should be.
Whether you’re importing for repair, restoration, upgrade, or other alterations, we’re ready to help.
There are two basic types of Temporary Import services we offer:
Type A. US-made firearms for repair or restoration only
Type B. All other firearms, whether for repair or alteration
Both services require a temporary import, but items qualifying for Type A allow for slightly faster and more cost-effective processing than Type B.
Which service applies to your circumstance depends on a number of factors.
TWO TYPES OF TEMPORARY IMPORTS

TYPE B: ALL OTHER FIREARMS

Shipping within the U.S. to your nominated gunsmith/shop and back to you within Canada is billed separately, along with any applicable GST on the increase in value (no tax if done free under warranty). Note: extensions beyond 9 months may be available if approved by Customs, and are subject to substantial additional charges.
WHAT’S A REPAIR VS. AN ALTERATION?
Repair
‘Repair’ is defined as an item that is:
serviced, e.g., inspection, testing, calibration, or repair, including overhaul, reconditioning, and one-to-one replacement of any defective items, parts, or components, but excluding any modifications, enhancement, upgrade or other form of alteration or improvement that changes the basic performance of the item.
Alteration
‘Alteration’ is defined as an item that is:
modified, enhanced, upgraded, altered, improved or serviced in any other manner that changes the basic performance or productivity of the article.
Note: This service is currently only offered for firearms and parts coming from Canada into the United States.
