WHY USE BORDERVIEW?

We’re located less than 5 minutes from the border
Our main office is located in the border town of Lynden, Washington, which can save you hundreds on transportation costs. Most other firearm importers will require expensive air freight and high Customs Brokerage fees. We clear Customs ourselves, in person, only a short drive from our office — which is included in our pricing!

We have an office just across the border in British Columbia.
We are also a licensed firearms dealer in British Columbia, Canada, which allows us to personally facilitate a smooth cross-border transaction. You’ll start by shipping your firearms to our Canadian office, which will allow us to physically take them across the border after permit approval.

We’ve been importing firearms as a service for over 60 years!
Our founder’s grandfather, Jude Vander Hoek, had a gun shop in the border town of Lynden, Washington starting in 1957. Ever since then, the family has helped Canadians with cross-border firearm transactions.
We currently only import from Canada to the USA.

TIMELINE, PAPERWORK, AND MARKINGS
How long does the process take?
Currently, about 4 months from start to finish. Much of this time is spent waiting for the ATF to process the application. As such, we cannot make promises regarding total wait time, but we’ll do our best to keep things moving.
Note: Surplus Military and/or Canadian Prohibited class firearms usually take longer.
Can I do the paperwork myself?
In most cases you cannot, as the ATF requires a licensed importer such as Borderview to complete the import. In the rare cases where you may qualify to complete the paperwork, we still strongly recommend working with an importer due to the complexities of the process and potential for additional costs.
ATF Import Marking Requirements
The ATF requires Import Markings to be placed on imported firearms. Our basic marking is BV LYNDEN, WA, which must be visible on the frame or receiver (although it can be very small). We can work with you to find the best spot for the required markings. This is required even if the gun already has prior import markings or was made in the USA.
